Arise and Shine, Your Light Has Come
from Isaiah 60
Arise and shine, your light has come!
Glory is risen upon you.
Darkness shall cover all the earth,
And gloomy darkness, the people.
But the Lord will arise o’er you,
And so His glory shall be seen;
The Gentiles shall come to your light.
Lift up your eyes around and see,
See them all gather together.
The riches from beyond the sea,
The wealth of nations o’erflowing.
Then you shall see with radiant face,
And then your heart shall swell with joy;
As Gentiles bring their rich off’rings.
Who are these ones who fly like clouds,
Swarming like doves to their roosting?
Surely the coastlands wait for Me;
Even in ships come from Tarshish;
All bringing your sons from afar,
Laden with silver and with gold,
To the Holy One of Israel.
The sun no more shall be your light,
Nor shall the moon in its brightness;
The Lord your God shall ever be
Eternal light and your glory.
The days of mourning all are past,
And righteous shall your people be;
The blessed work of My planting.
Glory is risen upon you.
Darkness shall cover all the earth,
And gloomy darkness, the people.
But the Lord will arise o’er you,
And so His glory shall be seen;
The Gentiles shall come to your light.
Lift up your eyes around and see,
See them all gather together.
The riches from beyond the sea,
The wealth of nations o’erflowing.
Then you shall see with radiant face,
And then your heart shall swell with joy;
As Gentiles bring their rich off’rings.
Who are these ones who fly like clouds,
Swarming like doves to their roosting?
Surely the coastlands wait for Me;
Even in ships come from Tarshish;
All bringing your sons from afar,
Laden with silver and with gold,
To the Holy One of Israel.
The sun no more shall be your light,
Nor shall the moon in its brightness;
The Lord your God shall ever be
Eternal light and your glory.
The days of mourning all are past,
And righteous shall your people be;
The blessed work of My planting.
