O Lord, You Know Me ~ Psalm 139
O Lord, You know me and my ways,
By Your all-seeing eye;
Such knowledge is too great for me,
Too wonderful, too high!
Where shall I go, or can I flee,
Far from your presence hide?
In heav'n or hell, beyond the sea?
Still You are at my side.
Surely the darkness covers me,
The blackness of the night;
But You are there, though dark the veil,
And shines a glorious light.
How precious are Your thoughts, O God!
How vast and great the sum.
Like sand along the ocean's shore,
Their numbers strike me dumb.
Search me, O God, and know my heart,
My anxious soul survey;
Now purge the evil and the false,
And lead me in Your way.
O Lord, You know me and my ways,
By Your all-seeing eye;
Such knowledge is too great for me,
Too wonderful, too high!
Where shall I go, or can I flee,
Far from your presence hide?
In heav'n or hell, beyond the sea?
Still You are at my side.
Surely the darkness covers me,
The blackness of the night;
But You are there, though dark the veil,
And shines a glorious light.
How precious are Your thoughts, O God!
How vast and great the sum.
Like sand along the ocean's shore,
Their numbers strike me dumb.
Search me, O God, and know my heart,
My anxious soul survey;
Now purge the evil and the false,
And lead me in Your way.
